The existing café and temporary catering facilities are selling hot and cold food and drinks.

There is limited grandstand seating by the finish line – this will be accessed on a first come, first served basis. Once this is full spectators can watch the action around the finish straight and 200m bend. We ask spectators to bring blankets as there is grassed banking that is also ideal for a picnic.

This is probably the most difficult venue to get around for people with accessibility requirements. The entry from Stadium Way is a steep slope – volunteers are on hand to assist. The viewing from the grandstand has accessible spaces at the back and the front. Other viewing is on chairs / rugs on the grass slopes. Access to the toilets is either in front of the clubhouse to the temporary facilities or up the slop and back to the back of the clubhouse for the existing accessible toilet. Please give yourself time to get around and ask for help as required.

Other Tips:

This site is going to be busy and tight, please give yourself extra time to get in and around the site. Whilst the grandstand is covered the rest of the site is open air so please come prepared for the weather.

At SHUCAS accessible access to the spectator catering is limited to 1 of the 3 catering units due to the topography of the venue, some of the viewing at athletics is on grass with limited accessibility; spectators are advised to use the accessible viewing areas in the grandstand.

Athletics always proves to be a popular sport with over 500 athletes competing during the week. The three days of competition have a later afternoon start and run into the early evening.

There will be an Honoured Guest Desk just outside the entrance of the venue and the hosts will be able to direct you to the spectator areas.

Awards ceremonies will take place at the stadium at the end of each day of competition.

The athletics do take place outside, so warm and weather appropriate clothing is advisable, especially during the early evening sessions.

Closing ceremonies will take place at the venue between 5pm – 6pm on Friday
